This grade is commonly known as "18-8" stainless steel, as it contains 18% chromium and 8% Nickel. 304 stainless steels are widely used to resists ordinary rusting in most applications. Both grades 304 and 304L can be made available seamless pipes and welded pipes form. We mainly have ready stock of 304/304L pipes. Grade 304L is widely used by the fabrication industry and all standard welding techniques can be used on 304L pipes. The "L" in 304L stands for "Low Carbon Content", indicating a maximum carbon content of 0.035%. The "H" in 304H stands for "High Carbon Content", indicating carbon content of not less than 0.04% and not more than 0.10%.
The tensile and yield strength of 304H stainless steel is greater than 304L, as the higher carbon content increases its strength. 304/304L/304H Stainless Steel Pipes are widely used for manufacturing boilers, pressure vessels and heat exchangers for fertilizer plants, chemical plants, petroleum refineries, and power generation plants.
