Our exclusive process begins when the tube is filled with an electrolyte.

A cathode, attached to the end of a copper rod, is introduced into the 316L Stainless Steel Hardness Electropolishing Pipe's interior.

High current density electricity is used in combination with special electrolyte solutions to electrochemically remove metal from the surface, resulting in a smooth, flat, easily cleanable surface. Surface roughness values of less than 15µ-in Ra (0.4µ) are easily achieved. Corrosion resistance is improved by the increased concentration of chromium at the surface.

A series of nitric acid and deionized water rinses flushes away the electrolyte, as well as any residue.

Tubes are then visually inspected and packaged in an ISO 14644-1 Class 5 clean room, which is ideal for ultra-high purity applications.
