JIS G3459 Stainless Steel 316ti Piping
1 - Austenitic Stainless Steels -
Excellent corrosion resistance due to high nickel content. Non-magnetic,
however certain processes (like welding) can induce magnetism.
SUS304
The most widely used Stainless Steel with good corrosion resistance
and weld ability.
Major chemical components are: Ni8~ 10.5%, Cr18~20%.
SUS316
Higher corrosion, acid, and high temperature strength than SUS304
due to its higher Nickel content and the addition of Molybdenum.
SUS316 is excellent for use in harsh chemical and salt water environ-
ments.
Major chemical components are: Ni10 ~14%, Cr16~ 18%, Mo2~3%.
SUS321
Intergranular corrosion resistance is improved over SUS304 by adding
Ti. This material is suitable for high temperature environments and
welding applications.
Major chemical components are: Ni9~13%, Cr17~19%.
SUS430
Basic type of Ferritic Stainless Steel. Corrosion resistance is inferior to
SUS304 due to the lack of Ni content. Widely used as a construction
material and for home appliances due to its low cost.
Major chemical components are: Cr16~18%.
